Our Community

Safe Sport is NOT one-size-fits-all. Each level of competitive sport and participatory sport requires a customized approach to education, programming, and complaint management. We have the expertise and experience to provide support and guidance from the Olympic-level to the youngest sport participants at your local community centre.

Generation Safe NSO

National Sports Organizations

The Safe Sport movement has developed rapidly and without sufficient support for our National Sports Organizations (NSOs). We have been in this movement since its inception and recognize that there will always be gaps between Safe Sport reality and a mandated, system-led approach. Culture is key, and we are here to support the implementation of the UCCMS and Safe Sport practices that directly impact your sport. Our approach resonates with athletes as we have been in their shoes, respects the new mandates, and brings Safe Sport to life.

Generation Safe PTSO

Provincial & Territorial Sports Organizations

With Safe Sport originating at the national-level, many provincial and territorial governing bodies are working through Safe Sport on their own. While National Sport Organizations provide support to many, each level of sport deserves its own support. From implementation and creation of policies, practices, procedures, and programming, we are the experts who can guide and support your members as you navigate this new era of Safe Sport together. Additionally, we provide best practices for coordination and alignment from NSO to PTSO.

Generation Safe Club

Club

Safe Sport is everyone’s responsibility and no organization should rely on others to ensure the safety of their participants. Our clubs are often volunteer-led and can fall into the trap of lacking time and budget. Further, there is a significant difference between national-level athletes and coaches and grassroots athletes and coaches, and this difference must be respected. Our programming, from education to dispute challenges, is customized to each sport and tailored to the needs of individual organizations and their participants. Safe Sport is NOT one-size-fits-all.

University & College

Largely forgotten thus far in the Safe Sport movement, the university and college level of sport is one of the most vulnerable environments for maltreatment. Student-athletes are undergoing major changes in their lives, and in sport. Furthermore, with respect, educational institutions operate much differently than a non-profit sport organization. With our extensive knowledge and experience in these environments, we are adept at respecting the differences, working with the stakeholders involved, and customizing an approach to Safe Sport that fits seamlessly into the landscape while ensuring the protection of all sport participants.

Recreation

Sport does not just happen on the national stage; the vast majority of sport happens within recreational facilities, at day camps, and in participatory environments without any formal competition. This is the magic of sport, yet it comes with its own perils regarding maltreatment and abuse. Often, there is uncertainty about “who is responsible”, and little guidance has been provided to date on what Safe Sport means to recreational sport. We are here to help. We can provide you with a starting point, offer expertise on the “must haves”, and ultimately support you and your participant families with comfort around your commitment and practices in creating a safe, welcoming environment for every participant under your charge.

Our Strategic Partners

We are proud to team up with organizations and companies that share our commitment to safe sport. Our partners are carefully chosen based on their alignment with our core values, their expertise, and their trauma-informed approach. Just like in sports, it takes a strong team to drive cultural change, and every referral we make to our clients proudly carries the Generation Safe stamp of approval. Together, we're transforming the game for the better!
